Veteran Tony Loeffler receives award; set to release live DVD/CD
DESPITE an ongoing battle with serious illness, blues and Latin music veteran Tony Loeffler continues to work tirelessly. While on tour for a five-day prison event in Colorado Springs, Loeffler and Harley Lamoureux were both inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. Blues Hall of Fame ambassador Don Overbey drove 12 hours round trip to make the official presentation.
Tony Loeffler and
Fusion Blues recently performed a concert in Havana, Cuba with Bobby
Carcasses and Afrojazz. A live DVD/CD, 'Cuba/USA', is to be released
on 20th November. Said Tony, "Music is the universal language and
healing is certainly overdue between our nations. This was the first
time in 50 years that an American group has performed with a Cuban
group in the famous Teatro Museo nacional de Bella Artes, Habana,
Cuba. The results were outstanding! Performing with some of Cuba's
greatest artists, Bobby Carcasses (trumpet), Roberto Carcasses
(keyboards), Juan Carlos Rojas (Grammy Award winner) (drums), Jesus
Recardo Anduz (trumpet), Cristian Pimentel (sax), Don 'Pancho' Terry
(chequere), Dayron Rodriguez (congas) and producer Fernando Leon
Jacomino was exceptional."
