THE CROSS RHYTHMS radio ministry has experienced a major break through in getting its weekly 'Cross Rhythms Experience' programme accepted on satellite radio beamed into the whole of Europe. The programme commenced broadcasting on 24th April on Quality/CMR (the audio channel of the Sky Sports satellite television) and can now be heard every Sunday at 7.00pm. Said radio presenter Chris Cole, "This is another development of organic growth. This will enable us to download the programme to terrestrial ILR stations."

The expansion of the Cross Rhythms programmes onto satellite compensates the ministry and its supporters for the surprise decision by ILR station Severn Sound to cease broadcasting the 'Cross Rhythms Experience' every Wednesday. Said Chris Cole, "Although we are obviously disappointed by the decision we are also delighted that the programme has been replaced with local Christians doing a contemporary Christian music programme. We understand Severn Sound wanted local church content to the programmes which with the increasingly national thrust of the Cross Rhythms radio now that we are on Satellite, we were not able to give them." The 'Cross Rhythms Experience' on ILR's Plymouth Sound and Devon Air is still being broadcast to a high audience listenership.
