The 13th Inspirational Country Music Awards held in Nashville
MAINSTREAM country's top acts and Christian country music's core artists were honoured during the 13th annual Inspirational Country Music Awards held in Nashville on 4th November at the Acuff Theater. Alan Jackson's platinum-selling 'Precious Memories' was named Album Of The Year while Del Way, a perennial favourite among the Christian country crowd, picked up the Entertainer Of The Year award. Commenting on the proliferation of mainstream artists recording Christian albums (among them Jackson, Alabama, The Bellamy Brothers and Brenda Lee) Del Way said, "It's a positive thing. These artists are Christians and when they get a chance to do the gospel thing, they jump at it. I'm really happy for Alan and all these artists. It draws attention to [the fact] that there's a whole genre of people and that's all they do."
