Worship leader Israel Houghton speaks about US radio stations barring his music.
IN THE September issue of America's Charisma magazine Israel Houghton of the Lakewood Church in Houston spoke about the racism inherent in some US Christian radio stations. "We don't play black artists," Christian radio stations told Integrity Music when it was promoting Israel And The New Breed's 'Live From Another Level' album. Houghton is not deterred by the block. He said, "It creates a vacuum of challenge for me to be an advocate. I'm half black, half white, raised in a Hispanic church. I love the meshing of these cultures. It's sad there's still a skin-tone issue. In Heaven are there sections? A black section? A white section?"
