radioSir Cliff Richard signs with Universal Music, set to release country-tinged album.
VETERAN POP star Sir Cliff Richard has ended his 46-year
relationship with EMI Records and signed with Universal Music quashing
rumours that the 63-year old singer was considering retirement. The
singer, who has had more British chart singles and albums than anyone
else bar Elvis Presley, is now moving to a more country music
direction. Cliff's first album of new material for six years was
recorded in Nashville with Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees producing.
Universal Music signed Sir Cliff as a "priority act" after EMI passed
on the record, entitled 'Something's Going On'.
