Bluegrass/country/blues group Ollabelle gaining much attention Stateside.
A NEW YORK group who name gospel, country, bluegrass and blues as
their musical sources have been attracting considerable critical
acclaim in the US. Ollabelle were formed during the Sunday night
gospel jams held at New York's 9C nightclub by country singer Olla
Belle Reed. The band came to the attention of producer T-Bone Burnett
who signed the group to his DMZ label, a Columbia Records affiliate.
DMZ released Ollabelle's self-title debut in March. The group is
currently on the road with bluegrass/country giants Ralph Stanley and
Alison Krauss + Union Station.
