America's Carolyn Pankalla tells how personal tragedy inspired album
AN AMERICAN singer Carolyn Pankalla has told Christian Retailing magazine that personal tragedy has shaped her debut album. The singer lost both of her parents as a child - her mother in a car accident and her father in a fireplace explosion which destroyed much of the family's home. The singer, who once sang in Southern gospel group The Goads, said, "I think the album is a reflection of my life's journey because I went through a lot of pain as a child and feeling alone as a little girl. You don't understand why people leave, as a little girl." The project, 'Broken Into Beautiful', is released on Carolyn's own Bella Vida Music and produced by Jim Cooper (Building 429).
