Gospel music's popularity in Britain highlighted in The Times newspaper
THE TIMES newspaper for 26th October ran a feature on the increased popularity in Britain of gospel music. Headed Praise The Lord - And Go Platinum, the article by Kate Eshelby focussed mainly on the forthcoming Gospel Gathering event to be held in London. The article also reported, "Gospel is booming. And not just in the aisles. The Official UK Charts Company is currently registering all gospel outlets, which could see gospel flood the top 40 by the end of the year."
The opinions expressed in this article are not necessarily those held by Cross Rhythms. Any expressed views were accurate at the time of publishing but may or may not reflect the views of the individuals concerned at a later date.
I read the article... and it wasn't worth writing home about. It was basically just an extended plug for Sony BMG's big Gospel show happening at the O2 in a couple of weeks' time. If The Times really wanted to write an article showing the impact Gospel is having on people here, maybe they could have covered Greenjade's "Gunz Down" schools tour instead, rather than help a big multinational put bums on seats.
