A Christian music competition is set to be held by the BBC in the year 2000

THE BBC are set to repeat their annual Christian Music competition Minstrels In The Gallery in the year 2000. The competition, in the words of competition judge John Bell, is open to musicians "from cathedral choirs to rock bands." The winner of the event will receive £700 prize money plus will have the chance to appear on various religious programmes including Songs Of Praise (BBC TV), Sunday Half Hour (Radio 2) and Sunday Worship (Radio 4). Entry for the competition, which ends mid-March, is by audition cassette. CR
