Soul star Aretha Franklin honoured by the city of Detroit
WINNER OF 18 Grammy awards who has sold more than 75 million records, soul star Aretha Franklin was honoured on 8th June by the city of Detroit. The city authorities renamed a portion of Madison Street, between Brush and Witherell Streets, Aretha Franklin Way.
Earlier this year the singer announced that 2017 would be the last year that she would be performing. Aretha will however continue to record and is currently working on an album being produced by Stevie Wonder. It is planned for September release.
