Amy Grant talks about new book Mosaic: Pieces Of My Life So Far

CCM STAR Amy Grant spoke to Christian Retailing magazine about her new book Mosaic: Pieces Of My Life So Far published in the US by WaterBrook Press. She said, "I was pursued by a publisher at Random House named Dudley Delffs for about three years, and I think I just finally waved the white flag. I was overwhelmed at the thought of a timeline kind of a book for a couple of reasons. One, I'm a fairly private person and I didn't want to be a part of a tell-all. Also, the time that I was able to invest in it - I knew that I did not want to have a ghostwriter or a co-writer. But when Dudley came and said, 'We'd love to do a collection of lyrics,' of course I went, 'Good, they're already written' - poems, which I've had for years that have never become songs, and stories - they can be stories behind the songs or favourite memories. With that kind of latitude, it was really a pleasure." CR

I just loved this book, something fresh & new for the shelf. I haven't read any other bios by Amy since the one by Bob Millard in 1986. The poems/songs really made a nice accent for the book as well as the pics:
not just a straight forward bio page by page. I have read the book at least twice, I really enjoyed it! Amy captured wondrous reflections of beauty for the book.
I admire Amy for the example she is being for her children when it comes to faith & prayer; how you start the day. Amy's account of her & daughter Corrina during a kinda rushed morning, and Corrina took over praying for Amy: what a testimony Amy has given. GOD Bless Amy for all that she has done!

I asked for and received the book Mosaic for Christmas and read it within days. It just solidified even more why I have been a huge Amy Grant fan for all of these years. Keep on singing and writing Amy - songs, poems, or stories - You've touched a lot of our lives in a God-honoring way over the years. Thanks so much for sharing your giftings with us. - Rita Baker

I was simply encouraged by Amy's honesty and her vunerability expressed sometimes carefully and othertimes gut-wrenchingly. I cried many times and had to put the book down because I identified with so many of her feelings and doubts and fears and God's amazing rescues SO MANY TIMES in my life. I absolutely LOVED this book. Thanks Amy!
