Amy Grant compilation 'Greatest Hits 1986-2004' set for release.
THE MOST successful female Christian singer of post-war years Amy
Grant is featured on a best of project, 'Greatest Hits 1986-2004'. The
album offers many of Amy's most successful recordings as well as two
previously unreleased songs including "The Water".
By mid-October 2004 we see phase 2 of Amy's Greatest Hits; part one was "The Collection" in 1986.
A great new tune "The Water" starts of the 19 piece songset; I loved it from the start. Most of the songs are Amy's top big crossover hits; very few ccm favourables. There was also a dvd released in conjunction with this cd; i.e. Amy's "Greatest Videos-
1986-2004. I loved seeing "Stay for Awhile" on dvd;
& the remix of Baby Baby-no gettin over you mix.
I really liked the video for "Simple Things" & "The Things We Do For Love": Amy did a bang up job on this old 70's 10CC hit. The 5 singles released with remixes from top selling "Heart in Motion" are also contained on this collection. The bonus track of Baby Baby remix was ok, would've preferred another hit;
possibly "Children of the World". The 1986 Collection cd started with new songs & went back chronologically in years, save but for 1983 Ageless Medley that closed the set. This Greatest Hits collection started with the 2 new songs; and went from 1986 #1 hit "The Next Time I Fall" to the newer 2003 "Simple Things". I was glad to see the release of another "Greatest Hits" 3 years later, which contained many of her top ccm songs. I have a bonus cd with my Greatest Hits 1986-2004 with 4 remixes. The more popular "Every Heartbeat" single mix verses the lp version (they label as edit version):
Plus the more ballad version of "That's What Love is For". Shortly after the release of this cd, Vh-1 aired an on line interview of Amy discussing the Greatest Hits release. Every Amy Grant listener will want this cd for sure.
