New Gaither group The Isaacs crossing boundaries with their album 'Heroes'.
THE LATEST act on Gaither Music Group, The Isaacs, has gone into both the Christian Album and mainstream country charts in the US with their album 'Heroes'. The family group feature Sonya Isaacs, who'd previously recorded with Lyric Street Records, Disney's Nashville-based country label. Matriarch Lily Isaacs admits the Isaacs' sound is hard to classify. She told Billboard, "We aren't the normal bluegrass band and we're not really Southern gospel." Sonya continued, "I don't think we've yet come up with a way to define what we do, which I think is a good problem because that makes you unique. I don't think we have to fit into one particular genre of music. It can work in the country section and the bluegrass field and definitely the Southern gospel (genre). Parts of it even have a contemporary feel to it."
