Music magazine Rolling Stone has reversed its decision not to print a Bible advert.
THE WORLD'S top selling music magazine Rolling Stone has announced it is reversing its decision to reject an advert for Zondervan's new Bible translation. The publication was slammed by critics for turning down a low-key advert for a new translation of Scripture, Today's New International Version (TNIV). Lisa Dallas, spokeswoman for Wenner Media, Rolling Stone's parent company, said, "We have addressed the internal miscommunications that led to the previous misstatement of company policy and apologize for any confusion it may have caused." The nation's largest Bible publisher, Zondervan, had inquired about the rates for the advert in March 2004 and booked space in July 2004 for the advert to run in February. Now the TNIV advert, which doesn't mention God but describes the Bible as "real truth", will run unchanged in the mid-February edition of Rolling Stone.
