Gospel and R&B group the Staple Singers celebrated in four CD re-issue

CHICAGO's groundbreaking gospel and R&B group the Staple Singers have their lengthy career chronicled on a new four-CD, 80-song compilation, 'The Staple Singers' Faith And Grace: A Family Journey 1953-1976'. Released By Ace Records in a special "45 folio" package which includes a book featuring rare photos and forward by Mavis Staples, the set includes 1956's million seller "Uncloudy Day", 1965's "Freedom Highway", 1967's "Why Am I Treated So Bad" and 1968's "Long Walk To DC". Rarities include an alternative take of "This May Be The Last Time" (the song later "borrowed" by the Rolling Stones), a 7 inch single featuring the track "Faith And Grace" and "These Are Made" (the latter being the earliest known recording by the group made in 1953 in a family friend's basement).
