Jesson Kurian reflects on the life of Joseph
Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today let's learn some important things from the life of Joseph. Let's see how his faithfulness towards God led his life to prosperity and blessings.
Always know one thing friends - when God promises you something, no matter how long it takes - even if it's delayed for a couple of years - know that His word will always come to pass. So have faith in God.
'So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.' Isaiah 55:11
Here are a few things that we can learn from the life of Joseph:
1. Fellowship With God
Genesis 37:5-9, Genesis 39:2-21,
Genesis 40:8
Joseph had an unbroken fellowship with God. His circumstances kept changing, but his relationship with God was constant.
He had fellowship with God when he was a favoured son in his father's house. God communicated with him through dreams revealing his future.
He grew up with a vision about his life and future, but soon the circumstances changed in his life.
He became a slave in Potiphar's house and later a prisoner in jail, but his fellowship with God was unaffected.
God was with him all the time. He could still interpret dreams in the prison. He was still using his spiritual gifts despite the adverse circumstances. His unbroken fellowship with God was one of the powerful secrets behind his fruitfulness.
2. Favour With God And Man
Genesis 37:3, Genesis 39:4-21,
Genesis 41:39-41
Joseph had favour in the eyes of God and man. Everywhere he went he had favour. When he was in his father's house he had favour in the eyes of his father. His father loved him more than all his brothers.
When he was a slave in Potiphar's house he had favour in the eyes of Potiphar. When he was a prisoner in jail he had favour in the eyes of the prison keeper.
When he stood before Pharaoh he had favour in the eyes of Pharaoh who put him in charge of the whole kingdom.
Thank you for your valuable message Brother.
Praise the lord.
