Matthew 18:34-35
Continued from page 1
When you are free and able to love your brother and show mercy and grace and forgiveness, then you're in a position to be used by God, if He wishes to use you, to remove the speck from their eye. (Matthew 7:3-5) You won't want to be seen, to have justice or to punish; you will want their freedom!
Recently I've experienced being able to embrace and feel complete freedom and love towards someone who many years ago deeply hurt me. I now can't feel any of the pain inside. I also found myself in a conversation, where someone was brought up in a positive light that had caused me great damage and again I felt complete freedom and genuinely want the best for them and believe they have a future and a hope in God.
I'm so excited; I said to my husband, I think I'm getting addicted to forgiving! I absolutely love the feeling. I believe there's still a lot more for me to come into regarding forgiveness and you never know what's around the corner that could knock you sideways and test what you've learned, but what I am learning to walk in is real!
I also feel that this is a message that is close to God's heart. I believe that He would like to teach us all individually to forgive, so that His body can be healed where there is separation. Wouldn't it be amazing to be a healed body, that all the separations we've known might be healed and reconciled? Gods' desire is for us to forgive from the heart and for reconciliation in His body.
Forgiveness is empowering, you are no longer at the mercy of others and you can walk on a straight path in freedom, even as mud is thrown! It also becomes easier to begin to live according to Ephesians 4:2-4:
'Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to one hope when you were called'
Go forgive today, they're the keys to your cell and God never leaves the door of your cell, waiting for you to take the keys out of His hand; escape today, don't be in torment any longer.
