Heather Bellamy talked to Chris Vinton, the Accounts Manager at Christian Technology

Heather: Let's start at the beginning, who are Christian Technology and why did you start?

Chris: The company originated under the company name of WFCS back in 1997 with a number of contacts within the Christian community and was set up and established by our MD, Paul Sillars who had spent many years working for various Christian Organisations across the world.

It was an exciting time and God really began to open up new doors and there were increasing opportunities that also developed within the secular business environment which was great because at the heart of the company lies a passion for making a real impact within all areas of the commercial world.

However, we also wanted to protect the focus, pricing structure, etc that we had developed within the Christian arena and so in the year 2000 Christian Technology was formed as a separate entity to continue the aim of best servicing the needs of those customers.

Heather: Who are you trying to reach?

Chris: In different ways we are trying to reach everyone.

We have customers that range from the home user to large, very well known, corporate and governmental organisations.

To give you an example, one of our key foundations has been the focus on providing "safe internet access". The home user will come to us because they want the peace of mind that a filtered Broadband service brings and companies will come to us because they have to ensure their company data is secure and their staff are using the internet appropriately.

It must also be said that when you talk about 'who we are trying to reach', that clearly has another dimension as a Christian - if I had the choice between completing a contract or seeing a customer really come to know and experience Jesus then I would take salvation every time. It's fantastic to be part of a company that has that exact same desire.

Heather: Using the internet has become a way of life for people. What are the main services you offer and how would it benefit people to use you over another company?

Chris: We offer a wide range of web based services and the reason that people come to us and then stay with us is because we are absolutely committed to providing the best internet connections and the very highest level of customer service.

Our services include 8MB Broadband, Web site Design and Optimisation, Web Site Hosting, Dedicated Servers, SDSL, Leased Lines and Leading edge Hardware Firewalls.
