CR spoke with Kerry Cole about her exploration of human relationships
Continued from page 1
Kerry: The book always seems to cause a reaction. I have had some very interesting feedback from it. It has got into the hands of professional footballers, CBT therapists, young teenagers, old people, people in education, the arts etc. I am hearing some great stories of peoples' lives being deeply impacted and affected in a positive way from reading it. A few people have said that they get to a certain place and it will unlock something, so they put it down for a couple of days and then resume.
Heather: How do you want to use the paintings and book?
Kerry: I know of groups where people are studying a couple of pages at a time and then discussing the deeper issues that are raised.
All the paintings are available for exhibition.
The book and paintings are good tools for use within education, arts, drama etc. I particularly care about the books impact on the people of Britain and I have a special place in my heart that it will reach some of the movers and shakers who led the cultural revolution of the 60s. I would love to sit down with some of them or do a private viewing at a London gallery and have them as my guests to discuss it.
In theory any group who wanted to outreach their community with the images and book could get a set of canvases and set up an exhibition.
The Purple Veil has recently received this following endorsement from Dr Tony Campolo:
'It has been said that truth is overheard, rather than being heard. In a world where so much teaching is didactic, it is refreshing to encounter a book like this, which uses art to indirectly stimulate reflection and poetic words that drive us to feel our way to truth. Here is a book that will carry us beyond poetry and graphic images to truths that the Bible says are 'groanings that cannot be uttered'.
