'No'. A word we do not like to hear. A word that challenges our hearts and stretches our reasoning. A word that stirs our emotions if it is not what we want to hear.

'No' is not a nice word sometimes, but is a necessary word.

Hebrews 12:5-11 speaks clearly about how we are supposed to receive correction from the Lord, because His correction is an expression of His love. His correction trains us in His ways and bring us into alignment with His purpose and our identity.

His correction changes our perspective and shapes our lives. He delivers us from the plan of the enemy, out of the path of the enemy and out of the snares of the enemy, with a simple "No", "Stop" or "Wait".

Correction can be painful and is not enjoyable, but to the wise, it is God's counsel that keeps us safe.

The Lord in His omniscience always knows what is coming. He sees what we do not and understands the impact of any wrong decisions. So He corrects us to keep us in line with the abundant life that He gave His life for.

It is interesting how easily we would trust the correction of a GPS system on our journeys, but not so much the correction of the Lord on life's journey.

I encourage us to receive the correction of our Heavenly Father with a humble and open heart. He is the God of all wisdom! The One who sees all and knows all. The One who has the perfect strategy because He has a perfect view of every second of our lives; every second of our lives gone by, the present second and the seconds to come!

The correction of God is a beautiful thing. His truth is pure and his correction is always truth. He is not one to hurt us. He restores our lives, and correction is part of that restorative process.

Correction is not always about what you have done wrong. It is about God fixing situations that are not right for you. It is not about fault finding or blame. It is all about a Father's love and desire to make things as they should be. So let us yield our hearts and embrace this life-changing expression of love.
