Jon Bellamy found out more from Pamela Stead

Pamela: Yes, that's for the worship part. The other type of prayer meeting we have is intercession. Then we pray primarily. We always pray from scripture and we'll pray the prayer of Ephesians 1:17 that the Lord will give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation for a particular topic that we are praying for. It might be for England, it might be for revival in Kansas City. People will come up through the intercession set and actually anybody in the room is welcome to come up and pray.
Jonathan: Can you tell us about some of the places you're connected with around the globe? Just to encourage us here in England.
Pamela: Yes. Throughout the world there are people who really desire to grow in prayer. I've just recently been in Australia and throughout Australia there are people who knew what IHOP was all about. I couldn't get over it. Then in South Korea we have 100 serious applications coming to us a week. Israel I've been to a lot; there's a number of house's of prayer which are developing there. In Turkey. There are houses of prayer in America and Europe; Amsterdam and Berlin. In England, my heart is primarily to see the house of prayer established in England. Whatever it looks like in England, it won't necessarily be the same as in Kansas City. I want to see young people rise up and be the voice of Jesus today; to rise up and be bold. I want to see them rise up like the apostles did when the place was shaking and they went out with boldness to proclaim the gospel.
Jonathan: Can you tell us a bit about what happened in November last year with your university students?
Pamela: Yes. It was November 11th and the first year students - there were a 170 of them - were gathering just for a normal Wednesday class. It wasn't quite so normal because the Holy Spirit came in power during the day. One particular girl got up and gave a testimony of how the Lord had healed her heart and healed her from a lack of confidence and self hatred; as she spoke that and as she was encouraged to pray that out, many people in the room experienced healing at that particular time. It developed during the day. I have a slight feeling that it didn't just happen. It happened because the previous week those 170 students had been out feeding the hungry, raking old people's yards/gardens and had been giving clothes out to the poor. It says in Isaiah 58 that if you do the fast that pleases God then your life will break forth like the dawn and healing will quickly appear. I felt that was a kiss from the Lord for those students. During the day more and more people began to hear what was happening. Since then we've been meeting four nights a week and the power of God has come and brought physical healing and emotional healing and we've seen probably around 1,400 people baptised.
Jonathan: Wow, and we can see some of that on your web stream as well Pamela, is that right?
Pamela: Yes. It's house of prayer and we always have a skeleton crew praying and worshiping somewhere. On those four nights between 6pm and midnight, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then the awakening services go out on our web stream.
Before about two years ago, most of the people we saw coming from England were old people like me; but we have in the last 18 months seen a lot more radical people coming from England. They are coming and tasting in the house of prayer; people coming and spending three months and just going back emboldened to go and do something here in England. I just commend your call to prayer; the call to prayer for the young people to pray. Let's see Wesley rise up again in this country. Let's see the preachers who will preach the word of God with boldness and that signs and wonders will accompany their preaching and that many will be turned to see Jesus. It's not about flesh and blood its spiritual powers that we are fighting. When you are outside England you can see a little bit more clearly. It's like going on holiday and seeing what your life looks like. There is an army arising, you can feel that, even in the last six months since I was back here, I can feel that there has been a shift as if the army is beginning to move. I don't feel that there is a stalemate or blindness or a stupor. Perhaps there was even twelve months ago.
Jonathan: Pamela, I wonder whether you would pray something for a younger generation in this nation.
Pamela: Yes, I'd love to. Father, I thank you so much that you are a God who always has His eyes cast upon the waters, cast and looking for those whose hearts are turned towards you. I ask you to have mercy on the young people in this country - God, those who even with a flicker. You said that with one glance of our eyes your heart misses a beat in the Song of Solomon. I ask you God that you will look upon the young people of this country and not miss a little twinkling of an eye towards you. I want you to pour out your presence in their lives. I ask God that you will speak to their hearts; you will wake them in this time, one by one by one; that they will rise up. They will take a turn. They will equip themselves with understanding of who you are. God I thank you that there's never a time when it's too late. You always Jesus went after the one and left the 99 behind. I ask you Father that you will send your Holy Spirit to go after the one by one, in England in Ireland, in Scotland and in Wales. I ask you Father that not one person whose hearts even began to turn towards you will be left without understanding of who you are. I ask Father that in schools around England that you will give courage to believers who stand day by day and are ridiculed. God, for those believers in universities who are having hard times that you will give them boldness to understand that you are with them. You never leave them nor forsake them. I ask that in the summer holidays that you will provide Divine connections for believers throughout the country when they go and meet friends. When they go on holidays that they will meet others and encourage each other in their faith, and that you will give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation; that you will reveal yourself in power in this generation in Jesus name.

Thank you for praying for us Pamela. We have seen in our Congregation a boldness and effectiveness in the name of Jesus in the last few months. I know that at GrapeVine (Lincoln showground) there have been encouraging signs of physical healing in Jesus name. I also believe that this has co-incided with a greater openness towards the poor, the widow and orphan.
Hey, it's not perfect, but what God opens no one can shut, and it's his day when signs follow the preaching of the word. That is, when the name of Jesus and acts of kindness, true worship, are preached then signs are following. God's word has not changed - If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, turn from their wickedness and seek my face, ..... I will heal their land. Thank you Lord Jesus.
