CR spoke with the event organisers
Continued from page 1
Hadleigh: We really believe that the Olympics is something that God's brought to our nation at this time for a specific reason, which we feel is to catalyse a movement of his love being poured out; not just on our city but right on our nation. We've had a number of people who have been speaking recently of the different things that God's doing. One of them was a guy called Rob Hotchkin, who's from the prophetic movement in Canada. He came to speak at Catch the Fire and he talked about God's fire being poured out on London and spreading to Europe. We feel that this fits perfectly with many words that have been spoken about our nation's role as a mission sending nation. Many people have said that God doesn't remove his call on a nation. Britain's been known through history for sending out missionaries and we believe that God wants to do that once more and he wants to start by pouring his love out on his bride in this country so that we are ready to go to the places that still need to hear his gospel.
Jonathan: Now this period that you're looking at starts with this launch event on 26th May at Leyton Orient stadium is that right?
Rosy: That's right yes.
Jonathan: What's going to be going on there?
Rosy: We've got some fantastic worship and prayer leaders. We've got Jason Upton coming, Sean Feucht, and worship leaders from the Latin part of the church, Noel Robinson, Nick Herbert from St Mary's Madison Square and the New Wine movement and Godfrey Birtill with his own unique brand of prophetic worship. There will also be Rachel Hickson from Heartcry and Jonathan Oloyede of the Global Day of Prayer; Jane Holloway of the World Prayer Centre, Matthew Ashimolowo from KICC who's locally based, Elcio Lodos from IHOP London and Jennifer Wallace a very powerful intercessor in the nation. They've all got prophetic input into the day and are all leading the prayer and the worship. It's going to be an amazing time of changing the spiritual atmosphere over London for the period of the Olympics so that the millions that come are blessed by God and its Gods purpose that prevails and no other.
Jonathan: It sounds like an incredible gathering. Can anybody be part of that gathering?
Rosy: Yes, we've got people coming from all around the nation because there is no other stadium event which is specifically being designed to pray for the Olympics. This is the only one that we know of in the nation. We've got intercessors coming down from the very far north of England to it; up from the South West and all over to pray. We've also got many local churches coming as well. It's going to be a really exciting day. We just need to pray for lots of sunshine to make it a really blessed day.
Jonathan: If people do want to come how long is it for; when does it happen; pricing; all that kind of stuff?
Hadleigh: The day starts at 2pm. Doors are going to open at 12.30pm. It runs until 8pm; so that's six hours total. If you want tickets they're available online they start from £10 for a pitch ticket; £12.50 for a seated ticket; then there's a small number of VIP tickets which start at £25. It's in Leighton, which has its own tube station on the central line. If there are any group bookings then there's a discount on the booking fee if you contact the telephone number that can be found on the website and then you can sort out the group discount.
Jonathan: That's fantastic. It's super to talk to you. I wonder Rosy whether you would conclude this time by praying for this season we're about to come into, so that we can stand with you and join hearts with you?
Rosy: Oh thank you. Lord we love you and we love what you're doing in our nation, we're so excited. Lord there's been much labour in prayer over the years and over the decades in Britain for your purposes to be established and to come forth in our nation. We have such a sense that we're on the brink of a great new move of God and we thank you for that. We thank you and we bless all the other initiatives that are going on this year in this nation. We bless David's Tent; we bless 2012 The Joy to the Streets project; 7/14 project; all the many initiatives. Lord we bless London's Burning and we pray all of these would give you glory. That the church working together would give you glory and that we would see something burst out of the Olympics which changes the nation for ever; that something new would come forth; a passionate love; a bride that is cleansed of our complacency and apathy; our half-heartedness and our disappointment and discouragement and a bride that is fervent in love for you, which will usher in Jesus' return to our nation. We ask for this in Jesus' name. Amen.
