Andrea Williams reports
21-year-old Christian Aisling Hubert has been hit with a £25,000
legal bill in her attempt to bring a private prosecution against
doctors who offered 'gender abortions'.
The judge's
decision means that Aisling has been punished for seeking justice for
women and unborn children.
Assisted by the Christian Legal Centre, Aisling will be appealing the decision. We are committed to supporting her, every step of the way.
Hurdle after hurdle has been raised by the 'establishment' in this case - but Aisling is determined to fight on.
Thanks to the efforts of one Christian Concern supporter, this case received further media coverage over the weekend, with UKIP's first MP responding to concerns raised. Douglas Carswell said:
"The Crown Prosecution Service likes to masquerade as objective, but in fact they make very subjective judgements ... I think we need to make sure that the Crown Prosecution Service is publicly accountable, and this has simply not been happening."
His comments, reported by The Telegraph, help to highlight the case and challenge the abortion culture, so thank you for taking action and contacting your election candidates. Please let us know what they say.
In 2012, two doctors were filmed by a national newspaper offering
'gender-abortion'.
Shockingly, the Crown Prosecution
Service (CPS) said that prosecuting them would not be "in the public
interest", even though it admitted there was enough evidence for a
realistic prospect of conviction!
With our help, Aisling
launched her private prosecution in an attempt to see that justice is
done and baby girls in the womb are protected.
But Judge
Martin Steiger QC refused to order the release and submission of
additional video material that was already in the possession of the
CPS. The Judge's decision not to require the film to be released is
believed to have seriously damaged the case.
The Crown
Prosecution Service (CPS) then derailed Aisling's private prosecution
by mounting a hostile takeover and then dropping it.
Following the CPS' withdrawal of the case, Judge Steiger awarded
costs against Aisling. She has now been told to pay the legal costs of
one of the doctors who offered a gender abortion.
This is
clearly wrong. The one seeking justice has been punished, and the one
offering 'gender-abortion' has not.
We are going to judicially review the decision of the CPS not to prosecute and appeal the costs order.
