Emily Parker spoke with author Andrea Lucado about her new book English Lessons, what it was like growing up as a pastor's kid and how to handle doubt.
Continued from page 4
Emily: If you were to go back and give a piece of advice to your Oxford self, what would that be now, in hindsight?
Andrea: Stop freaking out, you're going to be ok. I had so many restless nights and so many times where I was walking round Oxford so worried about these questions that I was having. I would just say calm down, let yourself sit in the tension of the unknown. There's a lot of stuff you don't know and there's a lot of stuff that you'll never know and calm down, enjoy this process and give yourself permission to be in it. Instead of trying to fix it, instead of attending apologetics lectures and trying to do your own work that's just gonna be done naturally over time.
Emily: If anybody wants to get hold of a copy of the book, how can we do so?
Andrea: Amazon.
