Jon Bellamy heard Ryan Cox's story.

Continued from page 2

Jon: If you look back on that last period in prison, what do you feel about that point in your life?

Ryan: I absolutely loved it, I really did. It made me think on a more positive note on life. When I first started reading the Bible my head was mainly in Psalms and Proverbs, because I got a lot of personal understanding and revelation.

Jon: Can you remember anything He taught you through it?

Ryan: Patience. That word stood out to me about being patient and love, because love's a massive thing in my life. I didn't know at the time what it was, but it's all a massive learning curve and it certainly opened my eyes up and I stand on God's promises now.

Jon: You mentioned that love's been a big thing in your life. What did you mean by that?

Ryan: Well, mainly with my family, ex partners and myself, I've had no self-love, or self-respect and obviously I didn't love myself, so I didn't love others. My old car was probably my only love to be honest and that would come before anything and anyone, but not anymore.

From Prison To Christ - Part 2

Jon: Since you met Jesus, how would you say your understanding of love has changed?

Ryan: Absolutely amazing, it really is. The first verse I got taught about in the Bible was John 3:16, which confused me a little bit, because I thought to myself, why would God put someone on the earth and then take them off the earth? But now I understand why God done it and God is love and we were made in God's image, so, I love you all.

Jon: You only met Jesus a year ago. I imagine a lot has happened within the last year hasn't it. How have you grown in your faith in the last year?

Ryan: I feel absolutely proud of myself with how far I have come along with my faith and my belief and everything. I literally can't count my blessings, I'm a blessed person.

When I left prison, I had a choice out of a few places, a shared house in Smallthorne, a farm in Wales, move back in my old area, or a place called Walk Ministries. I was confused and I didn't want to go to none of them, because I felt quite settled in the prison. Sandy Hicks came down to see me, to say goodbye and then I asked, "Sandy, could I stop in prison?" she said, "No, you're going tomorrow." I told her about these options I've got and she goes, "Well, the best one out of them would be the Walk Ministries." Sandy gave me her personal guarantee that I would do well there, so that's where I went. I've been with Walk now for just over a year.

Jon: How did you connect with them?

Ryan: I got referred, but I can't remember who put the referral in. I think it might have been the resettlement, but I think that Sandy could have rang Simon herself.

Jon: Tell me about The Walk centre and the Walk Ministries. What does it provide for you? How has it been a help to you?
