In the US Andrew has built up a loyal following who go for his folk-acoustic sound and elegantly intelligent songwriting, though he’s yet to make a breakthrough outside his homeland. Despite a deft production from Steve Hindalong and superb contributions from country superstar Alison Krauss, Cliff Young of Caedmon’s Call and that most neglected of singer/songwriters Jill Phillips, the mood here is so laid back and mellow that big sales in Europe will probably elude Andrew with this one too. But roots music connoisseurs will definitely want this. Just listen to the wistful lilt of “Let There Be Light” which describes the joys of grassroots ministry or “Serve Hymn” with its bluesy banjo-driven feel. Long may Nashville release such honest, emotive music as this. Pop radio it isn’t but magnificent it is.

Product Description
Love & Thunder, Andrew Peterson's third project on Essential Records, was released in 2003. The album continues in Peterson's acoustic folk style, resembling both the work and the melancholy feel of Rich Mullins and Fernando Ortega. Songs include 'Let There Be Light,' 'Family Man,' and 'After the Last Tear Falls.'
