The original 'Saints In Praise' album was one of the biggest surprise hits black gospel had for years. A simple idea really. Get a good choir (West Angeles COGIC are HOT) and get them singing choruses and hymns that everybody knows so that a black gospel/praise & worship hybrid is formed. Now that the album has hit big (and picked up a Dove Award) it's not altogether surprising to see a sequel and, here, a spin-off. This part of the massive West Angeles congregation is the children's part and as they romp through stuff like "Kumbaya" and "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam" (I lie not!) I couldn't help but wonder whether Western Society was ready for Children's Mass Choir black gospel.
