Over recent years, there is no escaping the emergence of contemporary classical vocal groups such as Li Devo. Formed at University, Veritas (meaning truth in Latin) fall into this category using a mixture of "inspirational" songs such as "You'll Never Walk Alone" from the musical Carousel, worship songs such as Matt Redman's "10,000 Reasons" and an old CCM hit MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine". The group is made up of three tenors, Jeff, Andrew and Jordan, baritone James and bass Scott and their beautifully blended harmonies are effective particularly as they are aided by a 35-piece string section. The result is a soundscape of powerful vocals, lush musical backing and an album that is earning its reputation as a top rate inspirational listening experience.
