Reviewed by Jayne Butler Having never even seen an aerobics video before, let alone a Christian one, I didn't know quite what to expect from this. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by it. This video is not only to get the body into shape, but also the mind, as Sue Barnett states in her introduction. The Christian content in the video is of a fairly high standard. Meditations break up three, 20 minute workout sessions. The meditations are Bible passages accompanied by films of views, such as blue skies and waterfalls. The workouts themselves are accompanied by background music, ranging from Graham Kendrick and Michael Card to Cheri Keaggy and DC Talk. Unfortunately, you can't hear these too well as Sue Barnett talks you through the exercises. The exercises themselves are fairly easy to pick up, with the only equipment needed a mat for floor exercises, though this is not necessary. Occasionally there re suggestions of equipment made, such as a snooker cue, to make exercises easier. Also, the three 20 minute sessions make it easy to break off when you've had enough. Unfortunately there are two let downs to the video, the audibility of the background music and the apparent lack of enthusiasm from the demonstrators on the video. Sue tells us that exercising should be fun, but her two companions never crack a smile. But overall, this video is very good, so if you're looking for a Christian keep fit video, this British production is for you.
