This record's lyrical depth may be described as minimal. The whole of the lyrics of the song comprise of "Let the Spirit lift you up/Let the Spirit come over you." In the context of the song the lyrics work well, after all in a club setting a complex piece of lyrical poetry may not get through - when a simple but powerful lyric may. Available in three mixes, the best of which, the Baile Africano mix, mixes the gospel message with an Afro Brazilian house beat. The record also contains a song called "Rejoice" in what is described to be an Uplifting mix, which is uplifting but not in a spiritual way. The record is taken from an album by producer and remixer Roger Sanchez, whose name is appearing several times in my record collection, with his remixes of Ten City's 'Going Up In Smoke' and his production work on the forthcoming Nu Colours album. A very useful record for putting in the mix with something more substantial.
