The worship leader hailing from St Thomas' Church Philadelphia in Sheffield has built the first half of his second studio album around celebratory themes. The title track is a loud and unashamed anthem exhibiting some creativity in its arrangement which resurfaces occasionally throughout the album, most notably in "There Is A Redeemer/Jesus Loves Me (Medley)". Other tracks, notably "Heaven", are a little disappointing in their similarity to much of the past 10 years worth of output from the UK's more prominent worship leaders. Having said that, there are moments of creativity and excellent songwriting that give James' collection an interesting edge. "Take Me In Close" is a haunting track that challenges the listener to join the journey of getting to know God better, and "Saviour Of The World" develops with a creative gentleness as James presents the Gospel in song. This is, to all intents and purposes, a personal worship album but one which does not stray too far from what we have come to expect from the shoal of UK worship leaders.
