From co-writing "Good, Good Father" which Atlanta collective Housefires recorded before Chris Tomlin popularised the song, Pat is an impressive signing to Tomlin's new record label. This four-song EP is a taster of what is to come and opens with a condensed but powerfully building version of the Housefires' "The Way (New Horizon)". The EP moves onto "Better" with its almost Ed Sheeran intro before moving onto a piano-driven compact version of Passion's "Build My Life" and closing with more piano in the haunting and powerful "Sails" which features the vocals of Bethel Music's Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Cook. The songs are very well written, arranged and performed and bode well for the full length album that is in the pipeline.
