As a member of a Charismatic church (and very happy too!), it has been a real blessing to experience the alternative offered by the Northumbria Community. Their devotion to Jesus and stirring liturgy has been a blessing over the last seven years or so. It is good to see some of the members of this community looking at expressing their way of faith. The musical style has a predictable folk feel which, although somewhat out of fashion, has an earthiness and authenticity that is missing from some of the more “ethereal” Celtic musical offerings. The songs vary between the devotional and songs describing the journey of faith. Anita’s perfect folk voice and Nick’s multi-talented stringsmanship is well accompanied by a sparse range of musicians on traditional instruments (plus the odd Hammond organ!). A superb recording that is a welcome antidote to much of the commercial packaging of CCM these days.

I'm looking for a songbook to accompany the CD, "Celtic Roots and Rhythm, Homecoming. Do you have those for sale? Can I purchase a copy for our church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glenwood springs, CO? Thanks for your attention to my inquiry.

Few albums make it onto my CD player as often as this one. It starts with two superb and evocative songs, Come Away With Me and Brendan's Prayer before a collection of instrumentals and folk-based songs that take your breath away in their poignance and beauty. There is guidance here for every moment in your life and beauty in the music that is rarely matched. I'll be playing this many years from now. Recommended without hesitation.
