Reviewed by Matthew Cordle Kelly hails from Cleveland, Ohio, and is a self-confessed eclectic, with her second CD being comprised of a rather diverse selection of styles across 17 tracks consisting of 14 songs, two intros and an outro. Kelly has a powerful voice which is well suited to black gospel music, and whilst there is a gospel tinge to many tracks here, in particular with the vocal harmonies, Kelly and her production team cover all sorts of musical ground here. So purchasers are presented with rock, as on "Taste And See," funk, with the track "Bankrupt" and Latin on the song "He Will" while the title track sounds reminiscent of Tina Turner due to the similarity of the beginning of the chorus with "Simply The Best". Unfortunately, I'm not sure Kelly's diversity works that well as there is an underlying lack of cohesiveness, and as you listen through it doesn't seem so much an album as a collection of songs that happen to be on the same disc. The highlight is definitely the funky "Bankrupt" with its fantastic bass, and the gentle acoustic performance of Nichole Nordeman's "I Am" is worth mentioning too. But overall, 'Great Is Your Grace' simply doesn't work as an album.
