June is a strange month to be reviewing a Christmas album, but better late than never. . . Julie is, of course, a worship leader at Kansas City's renowned International House Of Prayer and here she offers three original songs. "Who Would Have Thought?" is a reflection on the shepherds' hearing of the announcement of Messiah's birth, with a fitting choral and piano backing; "O Bethlehem" featuring David Brymer on cello; and "Please Remember Me", a homely call, with violin and acoustic guitar support, to remember God's blessings while "gathering around your Christmas tree". Alongside the originals are some much recorded oldies. Jaye Thomas and The Cry appear on a fun version of "The Little Drummer Boy" with an acappella echo. There is an up-tempo almost bluegrass rendering of "Go Tell It On The Mountain" featuring Isaac Meyer on guitar, and Meyer's nieces and nephew appear as backing vocalists on "The First Noel". This is a family album ideal for a family Christmas.
