Dutch singer/songwriter Joyce Van Boven states that she makes music as a way of reaching people in the hope that they find strength and comfort in the messages that are in her lyrics. Containing 10 self-penned songs - half of which have been co-written with producer Adam Dekker - this album helps Van Boven achieve her goals by covering a number of topics including the absence of a loved one ("Two Pillars"), seeking true identity in God ("Martha Or Mary") and conflicting motives ("Choices") to reflect the kind of struggles that many people face in their daily walk with God. Elsewhere, the beautifully tender "When I Look Into Your Eyes" - a song for her children - will touch the hearts of many a parent and, whilst the sentiments contained within have been covered countless times in other songs, Van Boven delivers each line with tenderness and sincerity. In fact, Van Boven's classic easy listening voice is what helps each song succeed and, along with Dekker's unfussy musical backdrop of sometimes nothing much more than piano, acoustic guitar and the occasional string section, this collection of contemplative pieces works in an unassuming and unforceful way. The breezy title track and the upbeat worship of "Glory To Your Name" bookend a release that goes much deeper than its exclamatory title suggests.
