There's at least one song on here "The Sons Of God" which is crying out for Christian radio play and how often can you say that about an independently produced UK album? Clearly singer, keyboards wiz, songwriter and producer John Broomhall has got the chops and with his wife having a pleasant, if occasionally thin-toned voice, the whole thing strives for a classy, funk-pop sound so loved by those big budget Americans and (amazingly, as there was no big budget here!) carries it off. Standouts, beside the wonderful "Sons", are the funky dance "Praise You, Glory To You" and the slinkily jazz-tinged "Where The Spirit Of The Lord Is". If your tastes veer towards soul-tinged pop gospel and you profess a desire to support British grass roots ministry, here is something you can do to put your cheque where your mouth is. Buy two, one for a friend.
