Putting it simply, Jillian is a bit of a rock chick with a voice somewhere between Pat Benatar and Melissa Etheridge. This is melodic rock with a touch of the histrionic in places and the opening song "Till The Water Runs Clean" sets the scene musically and lyrically as it explores some of the issues of Jillian's life. One of the best songs I've heard in ages! Abused as a foster child and later as an adult, the pain and God's tender healing powerfully shine throughout this very strong album. Twee it isn't, she's been there and lived it and now she's singing it like it is. Unafraid to share her soul, Jillian sings songs that will minister to anyone who has been badly hurt by life. "Do What You Must Do" is a gritty challenge to those who betray and walk away. The recovery of self esteem is a constant theme, here is honesty without awkwardness. Musically and lyrically gripping, Jillian's life and songs point to the grace that can wipe away all the tears. Like she sings in one song, "Take me as is, you could restore me/Shine down your glory, from under the dust and the rust to the dreamer that lives within."

Hi Jill,
I am now 31 years old, but met you way back when I was only 14 at a church in Aurora, Co....Solid Rock Christian Church. I still have the cassette tape of your first album. Thank you for being you and for touching so many lives over the years, including mine. I'm praying for you! Blessings, Melissa

I will always remember the night you led me to Christ in the passonage of Salisbury First Church of The Nazerene. You were in town for a womans conference and you preformed at our church. After church your husband and you stayed at the parsonage with the Downs =Dave and Kelley and my wife and I came over and you shared your life with us untill about 3am when you and I finally knelt down and I accepted Christ.. WOW Thanks forever!!!!

We saw Jillian at our church years ago... I bought this album.. my sister bought the book. I love this CD... I still listen to it, and I still worship God and cry. "As is" "Pool of Bethesda" and "Prayer Warrior".... LOVE THEM.

Now, my kids who were babies then, listen to this CD.

I met you at the Phoenix First Assembly a number of years ago. I will never forget how much you touched and inspired me!! At the time I was in my third abusive relationship and did you words "Please, Somebody, Love Me" hit home. I just shared both your book and cassette (no CD's yet!!) with a coworker and this morning she told me that your testimony and song made her cry and really was an inspiration. I would love to see/hear you again. Hope that you are getting all the joy back that I know you spread to others. I read just moments ago where you signed a message in my book and had to look you up.
Thanks so much, I will never forget you!
Terri
