Two points before l..er..get to the point. One, I love the old hymns - in my book "When I Survey", "Rock Of Ages",, "The Old Rugged Cross" are among the most beautiful ever written. Two, I understand from our esteemed editor that whenever an album gets a one square (abysmal) rating, Cross Rhythms duly receives a letter - usually from a friend of the artist - accusing them of unchristian practices. Still... this album is abysmal. Graham has a pleasing enough baritone and the material, although predictable (old hymns with newer things like "One Day At A Time") is good, but the accompaniments are absurd -corny to the point of self parody. Graham Ball is no doubt a lovely Christian brother. His tape is far from lovely.
