An all female gospel choir of no little soul power give up the praise on a set of songs recorded live. The accompanying band is good though it’s a shame that the opening track, "Let The Praise Fill The House", with its funky wah wah guitar groove, suddenly does a tempo change. Also, the theatric soprano who takes the lead on “Why Did He Do It” shows awesome Dottie Peoples-like chops but still reduces the song to OTT histrionics. But then, the gospel audience like their singers to engage in vocal pyrotechnics so who am I to argue? And when it works well, like on the simple, blues gospel song “A Delay Is Not A Deny” you've got something that sounds like a decades old classic. When they're hot they're HOT.
