The One Voice label is emerging as the leading Christian label recording and releasing Latin music. Concentrating on recording South American artists recording in English to bring them to a worldwide market Freddie Colloca's debut is packed with good vibes and extremely tasty music. With a similar bunch of experienced Latin musos who played on Alvaro Lopez's recent release, this is top quality stuff. From the celebratory "Live To The Limit" through the unrestrained joy of the title cut to the beautiful sax filled ballad "I Run To You", this is all excellent stuff. There's even an incredible groovy version of the old Isaac Watts hymn "At The Cross" which would cause old Isaac's eyebrows to rise. I love the sense of adventure here but for fans of Latin music I need to warn you that there are strong elements of jazz and pop that creep into here so it isn't all sultry grooves and salsa rhythms. Instead, the album embraces a variety of styles making its cross cultural appeal even stronger. Uncompromising message, great music and Freddie is a brilliant singer and songwriter. Well worth investigating.
