If your CD library contains the previous five Encounter Worship albums, then you already have the 30 tracks on this two CD package. But if you are looking to lead worship with some leading edge music then give this album some consideration. This compilation includes songs by Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Chris Tomlin, Reuben Morgan, Brooke Fraser and Joel Houston (Hillsong). No less than eight different lead vocalists contribute their talents here and such names as Cathy Burton, Ben Cantelon, Quintin Delport, Marc James and David Lyle Morris will be known to all long term followers of UK worship music. Those familiar with these songs can be forgiven for thinking that they might be listening to these cuts for the first time because there is little attempt to replicate the original style or tempo - it most definitely is not a "sounds like" collection. Each track has been thoughtfully treated and presented from a differing perspective. Produced to high quality and well engineered throughout, particularly outstanding is/are the attractive "Everlasting God" with its syncopated rhythm; the eerie acoustics of "My Soul Sings" takes us back to that moment we were overwhelmed by the awesomeness of our maker; the intimacy of old faithful "God Of Wonders"; and a deliberately understated but powerful "I'll Stand".
