This collection of original songs from the worship team at Glasgow's Destiny Church, gets off to a flying start with the high octane rock-driven "You Alone" followed by the equally energetic "Absolute Truth" and "Saviour Of My Life". Very much in the McFly mould with Sam Gallagher and Josh Owen sharing vocal duties on these numbers, the first few tracks showcase a tight band with a raw energy and the willingness to take musical risks when glorifying God. Proceedings suitably slow down a notch with the contemplative songs of adoration "Strength In You" and "Breathless" - the latter featuring Sue Owen on vocals. I understand from the Destiny Music interview on Rimmerama that Sue is Josh's mum which may not be too rock 'n' roll but is heartening to see mother and son in the same band! Unfortunately, the next few tracks end up sounding like a run of the mill contemporary worship release and the promise of the exceptional earlier tracks isn't maintained. However, things step back up a gear midway through the final song "Faith In Christ Jesus" and the bonus live version of "Saviour Of My Life" demonstrates the skill, potential and anointing that this group of singers, songwriters and musicians undoubtedly has.
