Hailing from Rochester, New York, Buck Barnabas drops a mixtape to promote his album 'Who Is Buck Barnabas'. Buck is from Double Edge Ministries whose artists each have a heart and passion for Jesus Christ and the upward building of God's Kingdom. The mixtape is just a taster for what's to come, with tracks like "Block Blues" being a standout as Buck expresses his heart for the block. At times, Barnabas has a deceptively low-key flow but with deeply passionate lyrics and a heart to disciple and point to the King, as in "Disciple Music" and "No Apologies" as Buck spits about Christ living in him with a determination never to sell out. This contrasts with a more assertive flow in tracks like "Sin" and "My Bones" where Buck raps what he means and means what he says as he expresses the fire in his bones for the Messiah. Where some projects focus on crafting beats, this is a lyrical and message-focused mixtape with Buck taking the lead and the beats following his flow.
