Reviewed by John Daniels This is the second CD from Bruce and Caroline Cook, prophetic songwriters and worship leaders from Austin, Texas. Having said that, much of the performance, both vocally and instrumentally, is that of the "featured artist", Nick Coetzee, who also produced the album. Which is probably why it isn't the "folksy" production the cover would suggest. This is a worship album, but a collection of often intimate worship songs, not a worship event, and with enough variation in styles to hold the attention throughout the 15 tracks. Only the opener "Jesus I Have Come" and the title track "Daddy's In The House", have the spoken introduction typical of a worship album. Arguably the best tracks are those which are the most intimate, the love songs that are "Linger" and "Dance With Me", and it's as if Jesus is singing to the Church on "Steal Away". "Beautiful" beautifully expresses how we so often take God for granted, yet nevertheless he continues to love us and point us in his direction. Just to show the contrast in styles, "Song Of Heaven" has a late-night, Latin flavour, while "Heartbeat" is pure pop and "Circumdance" ends the album with a ho-down.
