If there is such a thing as blue collar praise, then this must be it. Unlike many of their contemporaries on the Christian music scene, Big Daddy Weave don't need huge gospel choirs or fancy drum loops to get their message across, instead they write worship songs from the heart. 'Every Time I Breathe' is their fourth album in five years and their songs tell of the struggle and yearning that ordinary mortals, like you and I, face in worshipping God. There's an honesty and integrity in songs like "All For You" and the title track that will strike a chord (no pun intended) with anyone who finds Christian music a little too superficial at times. The opener "Let It Rise" sounds like a sanctified Cracker or Hootie And The Blowfish. Joe Shirk's eloquent saxophone adds a nice foil to all the electric and acoustic guitars, while Mike Weaver's impassioned vocals round proceedings off nicely.
