There are two words to describe this album from Absolute Records, the label set up by former Prince guitarist, Dez Dickerson. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! If like me, you never got tired of the Britpop sounds of the late '90s, this needs to be in your CD collection! Take a splash of powerpop, a touch of psychedelic, some British '60s music and mix it up with chunky guitar, a few loops and some poppy melodies and it's the perfect summer music. It's got a huge vibe and every track is a standout from the psychedelic "Flowers" and "Superstar", through the bouncy attack of "Sugar" which sounds influenced by 'Revolver' era Beatles to the quirky "New Year's Eve". "Goodbye Girl" has a British '60s feel good beat era vibe while my favourite is "Easy Chair" which is reminiscent of early Ben Folds Five. If you love All Star United, put this at the top of your list of "must have" albums, you won't be disappointed!
