Following on from their creatively successful 'HW.T.KLL.TM.N..CRDBRD.BX' album, Manchester pop experimentalists Band_C have chosen to release a five track EP to keep their fans' appetites well and truly whetted whilst work on the next album takes place. Essentially a double A side, two tracks take precedence with the expertly-crafted love song "Armour" showcasing the ever-improving songwriting and production skills of lead man Andrew Slack and crew in what can only be described as an infectious slice of intelligent pop. Meanwhile, the brass-laden "Guessing Games" is the quirkier of the two main tracks and highlights the chemistry between Slack and other vocalist Abby Scott. Inventive remixes of the aforementioned tracks also feature - an authentically recreated '80s sound for "Guessing Games" and an electronica interpretation of "Armour" - and this adds further variety to proceedings. A revamped version of "Building Houses Out Of Sticks", a song from their last album, provides the spiritual slant on another intriguing and enjoyable release from this impressive band.
