Tony Cummings reports on a one-day anniversary event THE NTH FESTIVAL
One of the most fondly remembered Christian music festivals of the noughties is due to make a surprise return on the 24th October. In 2006 800 people gathered in Yeovil Community Church in Somerset to attend the first Nth Festival. Now, in a special one day 20th anniversary event the same Somerset venue will host an impressive list of bands and soloists from all over the UK.
Pride of place on the bill are the zany alternative rock team [dweeb] whose Cross Rhythms radio hits include "It's OK" and "Pirate + Copse = Quandary" and who have re-formed especially for the event. Also re-forming for the anniversary are Bosh, the Bournemouth collective fronted by Dave Griffiths who went on to lead Chaos Curb Collective and is now the leader of lauded prog rockers Held By Trees.
Acts booked for Nth Fest 2026 - Twenty Years On include [dweeb], Bosh, Brother John, Soulcry, Brought Into Being, River River, Glasby and Sophie Gilbert. Five of the acts played at the original event. Joining them on the bill will be acts described by the organisers as "a fresh wave of artists carrying that same DIY, no-permission-needed spirited plus the return of the much loved Café Stage for stripped back acoustic sets."
Tickets for the day event are £12 with children under eight being
free. The fest kicks off at 12 noon and finishes at 10pm. Said the
organisers, "Join us for a celebration of a scene, a sound and the
ridiculous, generous, slightly chaotic community that built it. If you
were there in 2006, this is your homecoming. If you weren't, even
better. Bring a mate, bring your kids, bring anyone curious about what
happens when musicians make something happen on their own terms." ![]()
