Through Gospelreggea.com Christafari's Mark Mohr put out a request for unsigned Christian reggae artists to feature on this compilation album. From the applicants grew this 17-song showcase from a set of artists who could well be the future of gospel reggae. Particularly outstanding were Newworldson, Mysta Oracle & Ronnel Benjamin, Oral Roberts (no, not that one), Theo and Living Stone. "Have You Ever" by Leo-Tan (aka Melodyman) laments the trials that we go through in life as does the haunting "Not An Easy Road" by Dubheart. It is a pity that this CD doesn't quite hold together as an album due to the many changes in pace and style ranging from frantic dancehall to smooth lovers rock but as a sampler of some of the best raw talent on the gospel reggae scene 'Boomshots' serves a very useful purpose.
